WordPress Plugin Update Wishlist

Marvin mentioned the Wordpress plugin would need an update.

I’d like to put a few things forward that I’d really like to see:

  • Make server side tracking a checkbox so it can be enabled or disabled without disabling the whole plugin
  • Add a checkbox to enable inclusion of pa.js script tag in the site’s output with options like “do not track page views” for easy integration, either as checkbox configurator like on the pirsch page or as text field to enter those manually
  • A button to exclude you from tracking, setting the disable_pirsch cookie in the browser directly (enabling or disabling that)
  • An option to exclude all admins, editors, other roles from tracking and in these instances, disable pirsch analytics for editors of the site.
  • Remove confuson around client ID / client secret, only have fields that do something
  • When connecting, have some sort of status indicator that checks of the connection works with the credentials and adds a green light, or red light if authentication failed. This would really help not diggin in the dark

That would be really nice!

I could think of handy useful additions

  • Display a menu item in the top WordPress bar of the pages visits today or this month.
  • With a click on this toolbar button, take me directly into my dashboard. Saves me a few clicks and would integrate nicely with WordPress.

Thank you for the input, Chris!

We have plans for a WP plugin version 2, so this is definitely helpful feedback
